Veil between Worlds is the first book of a series ‘the Grimoire Chronicles’ written by Sally Dubats, author of the much loved book ‘Natural Magick - The Essential Witch’s Grimoire’.
Veil Between Worlds is young- adult witchy novel.
It keeps you hooked on to it from the first page, so much so that you just cant put it down.
It was no wonder then that I finished reading it in less than three days!
The main character of the novel is Cassie, a young wiccan girl who lives with her very loving aunt, who is also a witch. Cassie leads a very normal life dealing with the pressures of teenage, school, friends etc.
However a chance meeting with a boy named Trenton changes her life.
What follows is a whirlwind journey for cassie to find out more about trenton and be with him, cause the very first meeting convinces her than trenton is her soulmate.
While some might fail to grasp the instant connection between cassie and trenton, there will also be many who can relate with the instant connection one feels when one comes across ones soulmate.
The characters of the novel are very lovable and real. am sure, many would wish that they had an aunt like cassie’s. The relationship they share is very wonderfully portrayed by sally.
Another character that one might find interesting is that of mouse, her journey into wicca is very wonderfully described and the way her character has been development is great.
Trenton, the hero is as mysterious as he should be.
The spells that are described in the book are amazing, and true, so the book is also informative, that a lot of newbie wiccans might find helpful.
Also The message that the novel conveys in the end is very heart warming, something that rings true for everyone and talks of something we have all dealt with at some point or other.
To some it up, the book is well written and the end creates a sort of mystery that leaves us wanting more. I personally cannot wait to read the second book of the chronicles. Its titled ’ Winter Shock’ and is expected to be released by September 2012.
